A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood.
WHO: Sephiroth & OTA
WHEN: May 27th (from Morning to Evening)
WHAT: Sephiroth arrives and gets his bearings
WHERE: Gazin Outskirts and all over Gazin, especially in the Marketplace & an Inn/Tavern
WARNINGS: A Sephiroth of questionable sanity is a warning in itself, but as long as no fights are picked, people should be fine.
NOTE: Please let me know where you're hitting him up in the subject! Timeframe is apt to be Morning/late morning for the outskirts leading into late morning through early evening for wandering and early evening/evening for the inn/tavern area.
Gazin Outskirts
After spending practically a week within the same set of rooms, pouring through books and research records, he'd been quite ready to leave it behind. More than ready even, given all that he'd found in those books. Genesis' words still taunted him on occasion, 'Jenova Project S was a project created to make the perfect monster.' Yet, didn't the records state that Jenova was actually confirmed to be an Ancient? They weren't monsters, they had been people, the planets original stewards. He still wasn't sure if it was just a coincidence or if this meant he wasn't entirely human.
A part of him silently wished that there was a place to be found where he could have the time to make sense of it all, but the more realistic side knew there was no chance in that, the very company that had brought him into this world would not afford him that luxury. Yet, what was to stop him from putting an end to their monstrous acts? He could set fire to it all, and see if the door bearing his mother's name actually held her and if so... he could remove her from their custody and go elsewhere. Perhaps even find this promised land he'd read about.
It was a good plan he'd decided and he'd left the library with it in mind.
However, he hadn't expected to find himself in the middle of an unknown location that held nothing familiar about it within the horizon that he could see. There was a town, but it looked larger than the one he'd been in, so it likely wasn't Nibelheim.
The sight of the sign and the name it bore proved him correct in that and also gave him the name of the town. He'd yet to hear of any place called Gazin, which had to be a small mystery in its own right he thought as he headed in its direction. A town as decently sized as the one before him would surely have been found within ShinRa's records and thus on the maps. Perhaps it was, but by a different name?
Regardless, it was time for some recon before he allowed himself to ponder such puzzles. Just how he'd found himself out in the middle of an unknown wilderness outside of town, when just seconds prior he had been deep within a mansion inside the town of Nibelheim being the largest of those puzzles.
Maybe the citizens of Gazin could give him some clues to the matter.
Gazin
As Sephiroth actually arrived at Gazin, he observed the people and the buildings in silence. The style reminded him some of a more rustic version of Nibelheim. He attracted attention as was only natural, but it wasn't the type he typically dealt with due to his past reputation...it was almost refreshing he decided as these people treated him as an unknown. Fame was never something he'd purposely sought, no doubt to Genesis frustration and thus it often grew tiresome quickly for him.
He purposely wandered through the town to get a feel for it, to observe those within it and learn what he might from what he could overhear of any of the myriad conversations held out in the open. Once he'd had his fill of wandering the streets, he purposely made his way toward what was obviously a market place to investigate it and perhaps speak to a few vendors about necessities one would need to cover when in the field without means to cover room and board.
Fortunately, while it would appear his gil wouldn't serve as a form of payment, it did garner enough interest that those intrigued by it were quite willing to trade him what passed for money here in exchange for some of it. He refrained from trading all of it, but struck a deal for enough funds to get him through the next couple days at least, judging from what he'd gathered on the prices of the things that currently concerned him for now.
Once he'd finished his business in the marketplace, he found what appeared to be a clean and well-frequented inn and tavern and headed on inside to inquire about a room, followed by a meal and a drink. Once he'd obtained the meal and drink, he headed back toward one of the open tables close to a wall with a decent view of the entry. Before he seated himself, he shed the coat and then removed the sheathed sword from his back to rest against the table beside his seat before sliding back into the large leather coat again, seating himself now to eat and observe the people in the area as well as anyone who might come in the room, from either upstairs or from the street.

Renfri had been wandering the market herself, and doing some bartering of her own with her gold and silver coins which nobody here recognized. Mostly, though, she had been eavesdropping on conversations and people watching, trying to get a feel for the people and trying to figure out who was at the top and who at the bottom of the pecking order - and of course, for signs of all of this being the illusion of a vengeful sorcerer.
Overhearing someone else barter was certainly enough to catch her attention, or at least give her the hope this strange-looking warrior might be possibly worth her attention. Someone from far away, maybe as lost as herself?
"I might be able to give you a good price," she added, just so it wouldn't seem quite so odd to be showing an interest in his coin.

He pulled out a couple pieces from the pouch he currently had it in, and let it rest over the gloved hand not holding the pouch. "It's from where I hail... somewhere quite far from here."
His answer was crafted with the fact that this place was so similar and yet so very much different than any other town he'd ever been to. The fact they didn't use gil and seemed to actually find it foreign enough to be worth collecting, well it was one more mystery to add to those plaguing him.
"What are you offering?"
no subject
"I have gold," she replied shortly, "but I would just like a look at it for now." She didn't actually intend to start collecting coins, after all. She just needed some opening to figure out where the man was from, if he was maybe as displaced as she was. Actually... She regarded him thoughtfully, one brow slightly arched, and added, "the coins I have are foreign, too. Redanian coinage. Nobody around here has seen them before, or so I've been told."
no subject
"I'm not aware of a place called Redanian either...are you done looking?"
If she wasn't going to trade for the gil he would prefer to put it away before someone got the bright idea to attempt stealing it. Which could lead to trouble he didn't need or care to deal with currently.

"Roach," Geralt grumbles, trying his best to not be heard but a voice as deep as his was bound to carry.
When it seems like he's regained control over the brown mare and that they would pass along, Geralt offers a smile. But pass they did not. In fact, Roach slows right down and stops right beside the newcomer.

Turning toward the animal, he studied it for a good silent minute, and was unable to think of anything remotely familiar to compare it too. It was as muscled and thin of leg as some guard hounds, but far too tall and the head, feet and from what he could see of its hind end..the tail also didn't in anyway match any breed of hound he knew of. He finally did move after the minute, but it was to circle the beast, giving the back a wide berth before coming to a stop again before it.
Finally lifting his gaze and turning his attention to the man riding it, he found himself also quietly intrigued by the pale hair, but he was more interested in the mount for the time being. "May I ask what the beast your riding is called? I've never seen one before now."
no subject
"It's a horse," Geralt answers in disbelief, dismounting before moving around to the front of Roach and looking at the unfamiliar face. "Have you never seen one before?"
Obviously not by the way the other is staring at so intently.

Usually such mounts were used for those places where the paths were not passable for vehicles or if one lacked possession of a running vehicle.

"Redania must be very far away from here, for nobody to have heard about the place," she said wryly, "and yet I could have sworn I was still in Blaviken just the other day..." She gave the man with the striking silver hair another pointed sideways glance. "Funny, isn't it? How you find yourself living your life one moment... and then you find yourself at a crossroads in the forest."
That should be neutral enough, if she was wrong and he hadn't made the same experiences as her, she would just be a strangely talkative stranger. After having escaped being branded a monster, she really wasn't keen to have her sanity questioned by the locals for claiming to come from another world.
no subject
"No stranger than being deep within a residence, only to find yourself outside, of not only the building, but the very town it rested within, upon merely leaving the room."
He might have made an effort to be more neutral himself, if he hadn't already deduced that she had seemingly suffered the same event as he had. Which made him wonder anew just exactly where they were... and if there were actually still on the same planet or not.
"I would guess that the name Nibelheim means nothing to you, just as Blaviken means nothing to me?"
no subject
She gave a bright laugh. "Can you imagine, I've been wondering for days if this is just me going mad. And that's when I've not been wondering if this is all even real," she shrugged slightly, "which I still haven't decided on, but it's getting harder and harder to believe this is an illusion the longer it lasts. Either way. I'd been starting to wonder about the state of my own mind, to be in one place one moment then in another the next like that. Then I find you on the market between fish and turnips..."

"There might be more afoot than meets the eye. I don't think either of us is on the planet of our birth."
First their strange arrivals, then the unknown place names, unknown fauna, foreign currency. The fact his materia which typically had no issues before on a place that held a lifestream...were now apparently nothing more than colored gems embedded within his armor and sword.

There was something to be said for this theory as well; it made her look at her surroundings with an intensity as if she expected to find the answers if she just squinted hard enough. Naturally, that was a path bound to lead to disappointment.
"A different planet?" she asked, doubtful about that though. Different country or continent, yes, but planet? There were no other planets where people could live. "That seems too far-fetched to me. I was thinking more along the lines of some faraway part of the world, which isn't quite so far away if you can take people through a magical portal."
no subject
His hand moved back to the armlet he'd been touching earlier, only this time he removed it from his wrist to show her the materia within the armlet. There were four gem-like orbs slotted within its band, two green and two blue lined up in an apparent alternating line, though the second 'green-blue pair' is not connected to the first. He holds it out for her to observe as he continues his explanation. "The gem-like stones you see are called materia, they're a condensed version of the key element I mentioned, which is called the Lifestream. They require it to function, the fact that they look as they do now, and are inert currently makes it rather apparent that it isn't present here."
no subject
"Maybe there are other worlds, maybe there aren't," she replied, shrugging a little, "a week ago I would have told you it's not possible to make portals to a place as far away as this one... whether it's on the same world or just a land far away."
She would have liked to say it didn't make much of a difference to her but that was truthfully a luxury she couldn't afford. A different world would be far safer than a different land. She could easily choose to believe, if only for her own peace of mind.
The armlet he showed her diverted her attention effectively. "I'll agree I've never seen anything like that," she said, nodding at it, "or heard about it... though you'd have to ask a sorcerer, I'm not one and they keep their knowledge to themselves. Either way, your Lifestream not being present here is as good indication as any of a different planet." She wrinkled her nose. "Even if that's the strongest thing I've ever heard and I've heard a lot of strange stories already."
no subject
"I haven't heard anything called that here," Geralt shares. "Chances are the only mount you will find are horses."
