Even in her disheveled state, he knows who she is from a distance. Her hair makes it apparent. True, people from other places may have hair of the same color, but as he gets closer to where she's sitting, he sees that his first thought was right, and it is her. It will be good to have a familiar face around.

He's not comfortable enough yet to go around without them.
