She sees the grin and smiles softly back at him. He was one of the newer faces, of those that were coming and going. He at least seemed to adjust well enough, as far as she could see. What he made of this place and how he managed when he was alone was another matter. He at least wasn't angry or blustering about as others had. Either he was attempting friendliness or he was legitimately trying to create some form of roots. Both she could understand and empathize with.

Given that she had steady work and coin, she liked to help the newest arrivals have meals at the inn when they needed it. It was kindness that helped her settle here, she was eager to repay that gesture a thousand times over.
