Having his daughter back was something of a dream, just like everything else here. She's healed up fairly well (through time and care) and he doesn't care that he practically hovers and stalks her room when not otherwise distracted.

With the notion of lunch being soon, Kexing works on fixing something up for her and their growing puppy, laughing when his feet are pounced before playfully brandishing his knife at the silly beast. "You'll get fed soon!"

Just because he and his husband can't eat anything but snow and ice now without deteriorating doesn't mean he's forgotten how to cook. And that's a very good thing for Gu Xiang and any visitors they might get!

He nearly purrs as his scalp is gently massaged and his hair is soaped up end to end in the way only his beloved can manage. The hand over his eyes has him beaming and he holds still to make it simple, though he really wants to wiggle with joy!

But for this to work, their sharing of energy is vital. So Kexing doesn't immediately answer, only considers the familiar store of energy maintaining his body. "Not until later. It's stable right now." He nuzzles his husband's stomach, just a little. "You've been working hard, maybe you need energy from me instead?"

He rinses out the soap, smiling softly the entire time. His beloved is adorable; he always has been and he will protect him and love him as he deserves. Zishu bends down to press a kiss to Kexing's forehead when the soap has been washed away.

"If that changes, let me know immediately." he wraps his arms around Kexing in return, resting his cheek on top of his head, "No, I feel good. When I'm tired, I stop. I never wanted unending energy or power for that matter. You've let me return to who I was before the nails." and that is a precious gift.

Now he does purr as the soap is washed out, leaving him nice and clean. He presses a kiss to his husband's stomach before lifting his face up to smile adoringly up at Zishu.

"Of course I will." He hums then and returns his cheek to that perfect stomach and simply enjoys the affection that passes between them. He'd never believed he'd get even half of this.

"We don't need endless power. Just each other."

The sound makes him chuckle and he is more than happy to snuggle Kexing - and to kiss that smile. Zishu never imagined he would have someone to love; someone that is wholly his. What Kexing has given him is, simply put, everything.

"Power causes more problems than it fixes anyway." he smirks and pets over Kexing's hair as if he is an overgrown feline, "I would much rather have a soulmate who makes me laugh every day."

He loves his husband's laugh, and there is nothing better than to see Zishu smile and happy. What they have is simply perfect. Kexing doesn't care he can't risk eating mortal food or wine anymore, though he misses it at times. It's not worth even a bite unless Zishu takes a bite beside him. Then their fates would remain the same.

Kexing grins at the petting and playfully butts his head against the hand in answer. He doesn't care that he looks absurd, not if it makes his husband laugh!

"We've done what we needed to. Now we can live and just enjoy each other~"

He misses food and wine too, but not enough that he will trade a long eternity with his beloved for them. If the time comes when they wish to die - together, of course - then they will enjoy feasts and make the most of it. Then a new adventure will begin and Zishu will happily introduce Kexing to his Master and his students, his parents and family. And all of them will adore his Lao Wen.

Crouching down, he brings them face to face and nudges his nose against Kexing's cheek.

"If you turn into a cat, I'll have to turn into one too."

An eternal life with his beloved, be it in the mortal realm or the one beyond, he doesn't care which. Just as long as they are together. Should the time come, he'll greet his beloved's family, just as he'll reintroduce Zishu to his parents.

Kexing smiles and steals a kiss when his husband crouches down to his level, then adjusts his hold so he can properly snuggle his lover. "Dogs are better," he retorts loftily, eyes too bright for his words to be taken seriously.

Their families are one now. Zishu likes to imagine them living side by side, waiting for when they are ready to join them. But not yet. He enjoys living too much and he senses that his beloved feels the same.

Blushing, he tucks himself into the hold, enjoying the gentle trickle of water over their skin.

"Shapes mean nothing. I bet I could find you a bird to love. Maybe one of those with the pretty feathers? You are so alike!"

An ever growing family is just perfect and right. Kexing is content knowing they're not alone even if he doesn't expect to see them for a very long time. He loves living with his A-Xu far too much to rush off to death.

He loves that blush! He kisses it with a happy little hum, enjoying the heat of the water though they both know it has to be short-lived. The answer makes him snicker and playfully nips at his love's lips.

"If I were a bird, would you want to preen my feathers, A-Xu?"

The click of claws in the hallway alerts Zishu that their shower should likely come to an end. Their puppy does love playing the game 'chase the kitty'. However he takes his time, nuzzling their lips together and then embracing Kexing flush against him.

"Do you have to ask?" he kisses down his beloved's neck, "Who else would preen your flamboyant feathers? Pumpkin? Maybe after she picks them out of her teeth~"
