For Merlan
Castiel could only nod because that period of time in Castiel's life was entirely too painful to think about much less talk about. Instead of talking, he concentrated on Merlan's wings just softly caressing them.
He looked up at her as if struck by a sudden realization. "I'm sorry, is it too much?" He asked softly.
He stepped a fraction of an inch closer, reaching a hand up to cup her cheek. "Why would you help me?" He said, lowly.
Re: For Merlan
"All angels should have wings. You're an angel. Therefore, you should have wings. Tell me what kind of wings you would like and you and I will make them."
Re: For Merlan
Why him?
That was an age-old question for Castiel.
"My wings were black and then black and pink, Chuck's idea of a joke I guess..." He trails off, thinking what about a mix of both of ours?"
Re: For Merlan
She concentrated, too, thinking about wings in all their detail, focused on giving him back wings as they should be, right and glossy and wonderful, and then held out her hands to him.
Re: For Merlan
Castiel looked to her hands and tentatively gripped both of hers, trying not to shake too much.
"Whenever you're ready."
Re: For Merlan
Grace and magic.
Her magic hummed through her and into him, seeking the very seat of what made him Castiel and curled around that spot, suffusing it with power she instinctively knew would start the process of granting him wings again. It was faster than with her and Micah, she could feel it grow and begin to wind up through him like a bud seeking the sun to bloom. Her grip was solid, unwavering, but she let out a short, sharp intake of breath and her grip tightened.
So much energy, so much magic and her own grace - his as well. She poured everything she had into it and when it was done, she sagged, out of breath, the world fading and reappearing in snatches of vision and sound.
"It's done," she murmured with an effort to Castiel. Her eyes returned to the hazel they normally were and all the tension went out of her.
For Sam
Cas grinned at Sam, reaching out and grasping his shoulder. "You know that you're never truly alone, don't you?" Cas spoke sincerely and ernestly. He wanted Sam to know that he wasn't alone.
"And no I don't mean, God."
Re: For Sam
no subject
"You are family to me too Sam, you are the voice of reason between us, just so you understand," He pulled back fully, giving Sam a relaxed smile.
"How are you, the truth?"
no subject
Sam had always felt Cas could read him a bit better than even Dean and he knows the angel will needle him until he gets the truth he wants. "Tried...frustrated wondering where we are and why...worried about Jack and Dean. Chuck could mess with this world just like the other ones and I want to protect it."
no subject
He patted his back comfortingly.
"I do not sense Jack or Dean here, Sam," Castiel spoke softly. "Maybe this is one place that Chuck cannot go, much like the empty?"
no subject
Sam hugs back tightly taking comfort in the touch. "I hope so," he replies quietly, "so far these people seem kind and welcoming. I would hate to see them wiped out just because....because of...me." He doesn't want to say "us" because he doesn't feel like this was Cas' fault at all and because Dean wasn't here....he didn't want to assign blame that Dean could not agree to. So it was up to Sam to shoulder the responsibility for whatever Chuck might do to this world.
Open Prompt
The funny thing about being here was Cass didn't feel weighed down by the burdens of corporeal life. He felt free to just be. He traveled the area, hitting up the Market and heading into the lodge for a bite to eat. Cas didn't need to eat or drink but on earth he found that food was a good place to connect with people.
Cas can also be found out wandering around getting the lay of his new surroundings.
