We are family.
WHO: Song Zichen & Wei Wuxian + Song Zichen & Lan Wangji
WHEN: A month overdue, that's when.
WHAT: Zichen is visiting the pair in order tobe a mother hencheck on them.
WHERE: Gazin
WARNINGS: TBD
[Wei Wuxian]
He had heard that Xingchen's nephew was in Gazin and he knew Xue Yang had interacted with him, however, for some reason, he was hesitant to greet him in person. So much had happened and Zichen knew that not everyone would support his decision to give Xue Yang a second chance. It was hard enough for him to be open and honest with Xingchen about it; he really didn't want to encounter the negative opinions of others.
But it was foolish to let such a selfish wish keep him from checking on the other man. So he set out, inquiring here and there about where Wei Wuxian might frequent or stay. He finally tracked the man down and walked towards him, giving him a low bow when he was near enough. The stitches pulled slightly and there was a faint wince on his already pale features.
"Wei Wuxian."
[Lan Wangji]
The unknown Lan intrigued him too and he sought him out next. Zichen recognized the man's style of attire immediately and when he was within view of Lan Wangji, he bowed just as lowly as he had to Wei Wuxian.
"Greetings. I'm Song Zichen." his heart raced to say that much - the ice he had hidden behind for so long had truly thawed, leaving him open to whatever awaited him.
"May I speak with you?" he glanced up and slowly straightened, hoping the other man gave his consent.

So it comes to his surprise when Zichen comes up to him, let alone addresses him, even if he had seen how courteous the other was as a fierce corpse. He returns the bow, but catches the faint wince, drawing some concern for the man.
"Daozhang, a surprise to see you. I didn't think you'd want to see me after I snapped at th-- at Xue Yang." He stops himself from calling Xue Yang a brat or delinquent, if only just because of who he's speaking with. He knew he wouldn't want to hear someone bad-mouth Wangji in front of him, and could only assume Zichen would feel the same. "Are you alright?"
no subject
Since Wuxian is trying, he has Zichen's respect. It warms his heart when Xue Yang tells him about making good friends, after all. How can he not encourage that?
"Snap at him all you wish. Nothing will be solved if you hide your emotions." he catches the slip and smiles faintly, his gaze lowered, "I am sore, I admit. I was overcome by bandits on the road. I saw to them, but not without suffering injury."
no subject
He can't help but give an awkward chuckle at the call-out to keeping things in, the second person now to point it out to him, but that fades as Zichen answers.
"Bandits? They must be strong here to be able to overtake you of all people." He doesn't doubt the man, but he's shocked that someone so strong could be overtaken by simple bandits. "Is he aware of your injuries? Xue Yang that is."
no subject
Then he had cut the bandits down, showing them just as mercy as they had shown him.
"He is the one who stitched them closed." he smiles a little, "I am not supposed to be out of bed according to him. He has been very good to me."
no subject
"I would agree with him, you shouldn't be out of bed if you're still healing." Heavens forbid if Wuxian even tried that when injured, Wangji wouldn't let him. Though he is glad to hear from someone else that Xue Yang is actually being good, quieting some suspicion he's still had of the man. "Is there anything I can help you with? You shouldn't stress your injuries and worry him."
He's at least trying to behave, and this does give him a chance to get to know Zichen better than what little he'd seen before. As well as get to know how Xue Yang himself had changed in this place.
no subject
"I have already made you wait long enough." he explains, flushing faintly at the idea of worrying Xue Yang, "A small walk will not harm me. May we sit?"
He motions at some benches and moves towards them, settling himself there after a small pause.
"I'm sure you have questions. I will try to answer them."
no subject
"I have many, Daozhang." He fidgets as he sits down, looking at the ground first and then back to Zichen. "If I may ask? What made you trust Xue Yang?"
He's been wondering this for a while, and maybe an answer from someone else could help him trust the other as well, even if the question may have been a little bit uncomfortable and sudden.
