Catfe Gerdri
A small cafe opened its doors onto its friendly little street. Inside it was selling hot drinks with funny names to make its clientele laugh for the season. There were pumpkin drinks and apple drinks, drinks made with coffee, drinks made with tea but the real draw was its cats. There were cats of all sizes and all needed to be pet and loved on. They were even autumn colours; creams and whites, gingers and deep browns. Some of them were up for adoption and had little red collars on with little golden bells. They looked fancy and neat and ready to travel.

In the cool autumn air, come in for a hot drink, meet fellow travellers, and stay for the fabulous company of Mrs Gerdri’s cats. If you’re looking for a job, the cat lady herself is hiring! Must love cats.

Harvest Festival
Gather around! It’s that time of year of harvest and merriment that no other season can do just right! It’s the Harvest Festival in Gazin, of course! There’s games and prizes to be won, music and laughter, magic to be seen, and all sorts of harvest foods to be had. Try some cake, have some bread, make something magical for a friend!

Whatever you choose, leave room for dancing because Gazin sure goes all out with spectacle and music and their finest of beers. There’s something for everyone at the Harvest Festival, which will run for six weeks before it’s done.

Gazin’s Shield Day
Lan Wangji, Wei Wuxian, Xue Yang, Wen Kexing, Zhou Zishu, Merlan O’Keefe and many other locals have been busy for quite some time working on a citywide shielding project for Gazin. On this day, they’re making it official with the revealing of the project in its final state. It’s enough of an accomplishment that it’s become a bonafide celebration in itself. There will be a magic fireworks display as well as festivities. With so many talented magic users in on this feat, its success is assured.

Wen Ning knew who Xiao Xingchen was, with Xue Yang having been the first one to greet him it had helped clear up some things and also gave him an idea of who was around.

"May I join you, Daozhang," Wen Ning asks, although, the other might not know him but he would like to introduce himself to him.

He tilts his head slightly when he hears the voice near to him. It isn't familiar but it seems he is known to the man so that makes him curious. "Of course. I'm sorry that I'm not sure who I am going to be sharing tea with."

"Mm, I wouldn't expect to be known," Wen Ning says and despite the other not being able to see he bows to him and sits down.

"My name is Wen Ning."

"Wen..." Xingchen is not so out of the loop to not recognize that name. If he tenses at all he tries not to show it. It has been a long time since the fall of the Nightless City. He doesn't sense an immediate threat but it does make him curious.

"Nice to meet you, Wen Ning."

Wen Ning notices the tense of the other even if he's trying not to show it. It's almost imperceptible. Wen Ning's head lowers, swallowing.

"Mm, Senior Wei has told me some about you."

Before here, back home. Wen Ning had heard a lot of things from Wei Wuxian.

"Ah...well hopefully I match the image that he has painted of me." He smiles, not sure what kind of opinion that Wei Wuxian has of him even if Xingchen is vaguely aware of their relation. He has not gotten to speak to the man much, either at home or in this place.

"I'm sure you do," Wen Ning says simply.

"It's very good to meet you."

"Thank you. It is good to meet you as well. Have you been here long?" Xingchen is happy to talk with anyone even if he wonders about that name and how he came to know Wei Wuxian. But he is sure that is a long and complicated story and Xingchen is not one to pry.

If Wen Ning knows of his curiosity he would be happy to tell him the story sometime.

He’s startled when one of the cats jumps onto his lap and shoved its head at his hand and he pets it.

“Ah… very recently. I’m still trying to gain my bearings.”

"It takes a little time. This place is a lot different from the world we know."

Xingchen has been here almost a year and even he gets unsettled sometimes. There is a lot of things that are unfamiliar and they still experience many types of changes. Even now with the protective shield now around the town.

"You have people here who will be happy to help you adjust."

Wen Ning nods. It is very different indeed. He's struggling to adjust but petting a cat makes the worries seem a little less pressing.

"I do hope so. I'll try my best anyway. What helped you?"

"Zichen and Xue Yang have made sure that I have everything i need and that the adjustment was smooth." It had been a shock to discover whom his soulmate resided with. There had been a lot of things he was told that were enough to make him unsure how to deal with this place. but they had been supportive and loving and made the transition as smooth as he could hope for.

"Mm," Wen Ning hums in acknowledgement. Xue Yang had helped him too. That's an adjustment of perspective he supposes given his condition when he had come. There's still some trouble in trusting Xue Yang's intentions. At least, it seems it is true that he has done right by Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen to some degree.

"I see. Xue Yang was the first person I met here."

"I am sure that took some adjusting to as well." He smiles because he acknowledges that it was the same for him. But he was given space and time to figure it out. He doesn't know what their relationship was back home but he figures it was probably not a good one given who Xue Yang was and the things he did.

"A bit," Wen Ning says and his hand stops on the cat that he's been petting just resting on it's back. It's tail flicks with impatience.

"Did you know my sister by any chance? Wen Qing?

He tilts his head in thought. He doesn't know many of the Wens. For him, they were trying to stay out of the politics of the cultivation world. "I am not sure that I have met her."

"She is a doctor," Wen Ning says quietly. "Xue Yang said she had been here. I thought you might have met her."

"I'm afraid people come and go in this place quite a bit. It is possible I arrived after she was already gone or...our paths never crossed." Xingchen stayed very close to the shared house when he first arrived. Exploring was done in small sections. He feels a little sorry that he couldn't provide any stories of his sister on this world.

“I understand,” Wen Ning says and the cat’s head bumps at his hand for attention once more.

“How are there so many cats in one place?”

He smiles and feels the one in his lap stretch out and roll over. "I'm not sure. Apparently that is the theme of this eatery but I've never known anything like it before. It is relaxing."

“I haven’t either,” Wen Ning says and he smiles a little. “I can’t imagine how someone thought of it.”

"I suppose if you really love something then it is easy to come up with a way to be surrounded by it."

And this person who owns the cafe clearly loves cats...

"Ah..." Wen Ning says thoughtfully. "That's actually a very good take on it, daozhang."
