Catfe Gerdri
A small cafe opened its doors onto its friendly little street. Inside it was selling hot drinks with funny names to make its clientele laugh for the season. There were pumpkin drinks and apple drinks, drinks made with coffee, drinks made with tea but the real draw was its cats. There were cats of all sizes and all needed to be pet and loved on. They were even autumn colours; creams and whites, gingers and deep browns. Some of them were up for adoption and had little red collars on with little golden bells. They looked fancy and neat and ready to travel.

In the cool autumn air, come in for a hot drink, meet fellow travellers, and stay for the fabulous company of Mrs Gerdri’s cats. If you’re looking for a job, the cat lady herself is hiring! Must love cats.

Harvest Festival
Gather around! It’s that time of year of harvest and merriment that no other season can do just right! It’s the Harvest Festival in Gazin, of course! There’s games and prizes to be won, music and laughter, magic to be seen, and all sorts of harvest foods to be had. Try some cake, have some bread, make something magical for a friend!

Whatever you choose, leave room for dancing because Gazin sure goes all out with spectacle and music and their finest of beers. There’s something for everyone at the Harvest Festival, which will run for six weeks before it’s done.

Gazin’s Shield Day
Lan Wangji, Wei Wuxian, Xue Yang, Wen Kexing, Zhou Zishu, Merlan O’Keefe and many other locals have been busy for quite some time working on a citywide shielding project for Gazin. On this day, they’re making it official with the revealing of the project in its final state. It’s enough of an accomplishment that it’s become a bonafide celebration in itself. There will be a magic fireworks display as well as festivities. With so many talented magic users in on this feat, its success is assured.

Monsters beware, Gazin is now officially protected!

"Absolutely. I think...it's good for me. Not just here in the cafe, I just mean the town in general. It makes me happy to be here. What about you? Local or someone like me who is a little homeless and found a home?"

Bucky feels like he can call Gazin home after all these months considering he hasn't had a real home in years. One of the cats decides she's not mad at him and jumps up into his lap and he pets her, his real hand scritching behind her ears while he leaves the metal one on the table.

"I am not a local but I have been here a year so perhaps I could be considered one."

It still surprises him that he has been on this world for that long. The time has gone quickly. He finds that he is happy here. He hadn't realized just how unhappy he was at home until he was able to experience life in this place.

"I have been more fortunate in this place then I was at home."

"That's something I could say for myself," Bucky says, agreeing when Xingchen says that he has been more fortunate here than at home. If he were home, he would still be hiding away in hopes that no one found him and no one prosecuted him for all the crimes he's committed over the years even if it wasn't his fault.

"I didn't come from a good place," he explains. "I was always fighting, one war after another. I was a gun to move from one place to another and a pawn for men who made decisions without thinking about who it affected along the way. I can be my own person here. I like that."

He nods as he listens. There are parallels in that story with his own. Even if he wasn't the hand that was asked to cause others harm, he caused it on his own. He has regrets and those regrets have been eased in this place, as if the mistakes were never made.

"We also saw many wars and fights. Things were starting to calm a little but at that time I had hidden away from it all. This place is peaceful and for that alone I should be thankful."

"Peace is something no one should take for granted," Bucky agrees. The cat in his lap is purring softly and he likes it. He likes that animals seem to like being around him and don't care about the blood on his hands or the past he had. They only see him.

"This is probably a question that will be out of line so you don't have to answer but when are you from? I picked up on China - I speak Mandarin - but time periods aren't something I'm so good at. I'm older than I look so I'm a perfect example."

He smiles, unsure how to explain when he is from in terms relating to when others are from. "I've been informed that I come from a point in time that is quite earlier then most that are in this place."

Its vague but it is the best he can do. As for being older then one looks...well Xingchen will have to take Bucky's word for that. "You sound quite youthful but also sound like one that has to carry a weight of one older."

"That's...probably the best anyone has described it." It's funny that a blind man can tell that about him without the benefit of seeing his expressions and other people can't. Perceptive. Good person to be around, he thinks.

"I came from earlier too, originally. It's a long story but I had to catch up on the world when I was back home and I know what it feels like. It feels like there's just too many things to learn and know, things others take for granted. Is it like that for you?"

He laughs, pleased that his assessment seems to be accurate. He is quite perceptive. He has to be. Being down a sense means that he has to use his mind and other senses to make up for it in order to survive as normally as he can.

"I can understand that. Even though this place has a lot of familiarity, there are things I still have to get used to. The ability to have water inside that runs is such a nice convenience. There are many things that make life easier but take time to learn."

"Running water is a big deal," Bucky says, laughing a little. "The biggest deal to me in my world were computers but we don't really have them here. Too fancy. The best way to describe them is...imagine you had the ability to read a thousand books from something that could fit in the palm of your hand. But it could add up more numbers than you could do in a lifetime. It could allow you to talk to someone half a world away. Amazing things, that."

He doesn't know if he's describing them well considering Xingchen seems to be from a much, much earlier time but he hopes the point comes across just the same.

He listens, quite interested in this advancement that has occurred over the years. He has yet to meet anyone that seems to be from a place like his own. Everyone seems to be used to even more conveniences and finds this world to actually be one less advanced. It certainly is an amazing thing.

"That does sound quite amazing. Anyone who is used to something like that probably goes through quite a shock to end up here."

"It's backwards, in a way. I like it because it's more simple for me. The world where I'm from, it's too big, and sometimes I feel like I'm stuck in my past or I can't move forward. This place seems a lot safer sometimes. I can handle myself, sure, but it's nice not to be in a war or have something to fight. It's nice to just live."

Moments like these where he can have a conversation with someone and not have them judge him for crimes he committed when he didn't have a choice? That's more precious than anything else in the world for Bucky. The people here get to know him and not what the media tells them about him.

"I'm the only person from my world here, though. I had a friend but he left."

"Sometimes it is nice just to be able to start over. This place does seem to offer us that." He gets to fix all the mistakes he made in his past in a way. He gets to walk alongside Zichen which is something he doesn't get to do back home.

"I am sorry you are having to endure a new place alone, but I am sure you will make plenty of new friends while here."

"Hey, I'm sitting with one right now, aren't I?"

Maybe it's a little presumptuous but the good thing about this place is most of the people are friendly and work together. He's not on bad terms with anyone and no one knows his past. There's no prejudice to work through before he can be friends with someone, only the initial getting to know someone and building trust. It's nice.

Bucky has another kitty friend rub up against his legs and he reaches down to scritch behind his ears.

"So I wonder who's idea it was to open a cat cafe? I've only ever seen them in Japan and that was a while ago."

He laughs softly and gives a nod of his head. Accepting that he has found a friend in the cultivator. Xingchen is always willing to be friends with anyone and everyone. They all need to stick together since they are in a foreign place.

"I can't say that I have ever heard of one. This is the most cats I've noticed in one place before. It is pleasant though."
