"...I know." The words fall heavy from his lips. He'd been listening for it, expecting Xue Yang to follow up his reveal and the destruction of his game with slaughter. Xingchen would know what he had to do then. He could put his feelings aside because doing the right thing would demand it.

Now, he's not as sure what that even is. Xue Yang deserves justice, but who here has the most right to deliver it? Hanguang-Jun? Maybe Xingchen himself, he doesn't know. All he can think of is how right now they're in another place, and it's like a fresh blanket of snow has fallen on the mountaintop. And so far, there's been no blood splashed across it.

He's so tired, the kind of tired that goes behind the physical. His head sags as Xue Yang tends to him.

"Xue Yang." He says his name quietly, the first time since finding out that he and the man he was sharing his life with were one and he same. "Tell me the truth. What are you going to do here?"
